Chief Inspector Lau Kar-ming of the Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) and Police Community Relations Officer of Yau Tsim District (YTDIST) Chow Tsz-tung attended an Indian cultural event on September 9. It was hosted by two Hindu organisations in Hong Kong in celebration of a Hindu festival, Raksha Bandhan.

Raksha Bandhan is an occasion to express wishes between brothers and sisters and to celebrate fellowship. The organiser took the occasion to express gratitude to the Force for their care for the Non-ethnic Chinese community.

Other guests included Consul (Consular & Education) of India in Hong Kong Mrs Mrinalini Srivastava and Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Commission Professor Chan Cheung-ming. According to Hindu ritual, the host tied a braid around the guests' wrists as a symbol of blessing. Indian cultural performances were also featured, filling the function with a joyful ambience.
