A seven-member delegation from New Territories North (NTN), led by Superintendent Shum Hoi-kwong of Crime NTN Headquarters, visited the Criminal Investigation Department of Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department (PSD) and Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau on November 9 and 10 to share their views about anti-deception techniques.

Comprising Mr Shum and six Inspectors, the delegation visited the Guangdong Centre for Combating Telecommunication Fraud and Cyber Crime and Guangdong PSD Forensic Science Centre. After the Guangdong officials briefed the delegates on the crime trend and their investigation procedures, both sides exchanged their experience in curbing telephone deception and internet fraud.

The delegation was later received by Deputy Director of Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau Mr Qiao Lei. The delegates also visited a police station and a community policing office at which they discussed with local frontline officers about enforcement work.

The visit enabled the delegates to learn from the experience of Mainland officers and to consolidate their partnership.
