The Recruitment Division (RECDIV) and mentors of Kowloon City District jointly arranged a visit for more than 20 mentees and mentors of Project GROWTH to Small Boat Division (SBDIV) on November 4 to enhance the mentees' knowledge about police frontline duties.

Officers of SBDIV briefed the mentees about their history, operational objectives, major duties, selection procedures and training activities, followed by a demonstration of their equipment. This enabled the mentees to get an in-depth understanding of their challenging job.

The officers also arranged an interactive game, in which the mentees were given night vision goggles to simulate the interception and apprehension of criminals in the sea when it was dark and silent. Besides, the mentees were invited to board a fast pursuit craft and a high-speed interceptor to gain first-hand knowledge about the boat equipment and to hear about officers' work experience in the sea. The mentees were grateful to SBDIV, the mentors and RECDIV for their meticulous arrangements, which arouse their interest in joining the Force upon their graduation.
