Thirty officers of the Police Swimming Club joined the Harbour Race in both racing and leisure groups on October 29, with two of them obtaining the silver award.

Organised by the Hong Kong Amateur Swimming Association for the seventh year, the one-kilometre cross-harbour swimming race started at Tsim Sha Tsui Public Pier and finished at Wan Chai Golden Bauhinia Square Public Pier. This year, swimmers from disciplinary forces and government bureaux continued to join the Invitation Category of the race. Senior Inspector Yu Sze-wai and Auxiliary Police Constable Lau Ka-chun won the first runner-up title in the Women's and Men's Invitation Categories respectively.

Chairman of the Police Swimming Club Mr Ho Ka-fei was delighted with the achievement of the two awardees as well as the completion of the race by other members of the club. He also thanked over 50 members of the Octans volunteer group of the Marine Police for their assistance in the event.
