The Commercial Crime Bureau, the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau and the Regional Crime Prevention Office of New Territories South were invited by the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) to organise a crime prevention seminar at the HSBC Centre in Tai Kok Tsui on December 6, 2017, to share up-to-date information on financial and technology crimes and tips on fraud prevention.

Joined by over 150 frontline bank employees, the seminar aimed to raise the participants' awareness of financial and technology crimes, alert them of the modus operandi of fraudsters and remind them of their role in protecting the interests of their companies and customers. The participants were urged to disseminate the messages to other frontline staff of their institutions.

The seminar provided an effective platform for officers to exchange anti-fraud information with bank practitioners. It stepped up the joint efforts of the Force and the banking sector in preventing and fighting financial and technology crimes.
