The Hong Kong Girl Guides Association held the Outstanding Girl Guide Award Presentation Ceremony 2017 at the Hong Kong Sports Institute on December 10, 2017, with Regional Commander of New Territories North (NTN) Kwok Ho-fai being invited as a member of the adjudication panel to select 13 winners.

Mr Kwok and other adjudicators, including Secretary for Food and Health Professor Chan Siu-chee, shared their personal experience with the attendees and encouraged the girl guides to serve the community.

Later on December 16, NTN Region invited 60 girl guides to visit its Operations Branch and Traffic Branch at the Regional Headquarters (RHQ) and the Police Community Relations Office of Tai Po District. Officers shared road safety messages with the visitors and explained to them the duties of the regional units. Booths were set up to display equipment used by the two branches. These activities helped establish a closer relationship between the Force and the girl guides, as well as enabling the latter to gain a better understanding of police work.
