The Force hosted the 17th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Police and Security Forces Sports Exchange from January 9 to 12, with senior officials from the three law enforcement agencies and the Police Liaison Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (LOCPG) taking part in various matches and renewing acquaintance.


With mutual trust and harmony as the theme, Deputy Commissioner (Management) Chiu Wai-yin, Deputy Director of Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department Mr Li Qingxiong and Commissioner-General of the Unitary Police Service of Macao Mr Ma Io-kun kicked off the event.


A total of 190 athletes from the three places took part in the Tripartite Sports Exchange, which saw nail-biting contest in shooting, football, distance run, badminton and tennis. Force athletes won in shooting, distance run and tennis, earning the overall champion of the event.


On January 12, the heads and senior representatives of the three law enforcement agencies, Director of the Police Liaison Department of LOCPG Mr Li Jiangzhou and the athletes attended a closing dinner cum prize presentation ceremony. Commissioner Lo Wai-chung and senior officials of the Force thanked the athletes for supporting the sports exchange. He presented the overall champion trophy to Chairman of the Hong Kong Police Sports Council Mr Cheuk Hau-yip and a Force representative, marking a perfect finale to the event.


The Tripartite Sports Exchange has been running for 17 years, offering a good platform for senior officials from the three law enforcement agencies to enhance friendship, communication, understanding and co-operation.
