To live up to the Force's vision of ensuring Hong Kong continues to be one of the safest and most stable societies in the world, a Force delegation of over 15 officers, led by Director of Operations Tang Ping-keung, attended the Annual Conference on Disaster Preparedness and Response 2018 at the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine on January 13.

With a theme of "Emerging Challenges and Opportunities Ahead", both local and overseas speakers shared their knowledge and lessons learned in disaster management to better prepare Hong Kong for handling disasters.

Chief Superintendent cum Knowledge Associate Martin Cadman and Superintendent Tang Chi-ming were invited to share in the conference their knowledge and experience in policing mass gatherings and major events. The conference provided participants with insights for tackling emerging disaster risks, especially in the context of metropolitan cities in which we live.
