The Auxiliary Police Volunteer Services Cadre was again invited by the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association to assist in offering supportive services at the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2018 held on January 21.

A total of 159 auxiliary police volunteers maintained order and provided logistics support for the international race in Yau Tsim and Mong Kok. Another 380 auxiliary officers performed crowd management work along the route to ensure the race proceeded without a hitch.

Early that morning, Commandant of the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force (HKAPF) Yang Joe-tsi and Deputy Commandant Cheng Man-sum, together with the Auxiliary's regional senior management teams, arrived at the venue to cheer on the volunteers and auxiliary officers on duty in Kowloon. After the race, the senior officers joined a late breakfast with the volunteers to thank them for their service. Meanwhile, the organiser expressed gratitude to the HKAPF for their continuous support.
