Yuen Long District (YLDIST) arranged talks about domestic violence and sexual offences for non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) and local women on January 20 and 27 respectively.

The speakers came from the Family Conflict and Sexual Violence Policy Unit, the Regional Crime Prevention Office of New Territories North, the Family and Child Protective Services Unit (Yuen Long) of the Social Welfare Department (SWD), the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals CEASE Crisis Centre and the Support Service Centre for Ethnic Minorities of Yuen Long Town Hall. They appealed to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault to break the silence and stand up against abusers, and gave a detailed account of the professional services provided by the Force, the SWD and non-governmental organisations for the victims.

About 200 NEC and 250 local women attended the talks. They praised the organisers for providing useful and detailed information for them.
