Director of Operations (D OPS) Tang Ping-keung enjoyed a wonderful evening with over 800 auxiliary officers at the 2018 spring dinner organised by the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police JPO Mess Sub-Committee on March 10.

Speaking at the dinner, Mr Tang noted that the law and order situation in Hong Kong continued to improve in 2017. The overall crime figure dropped to 56 017, which was the lowest since 1975. Mr Tang attributed this to the concerted efforts of both regular and auxiliary officers. He pointed out that the Force management fully recognises the outstanding performance of the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force (HKAPF). During his visit of frontline officers in the last Halloween, Christmas and New Year periods, he observed that many auxiliary members were on duty. He expressed his gratitude to the auxiliary members for sacrificing their time with their family and friends to serve the community.

Commandant of HKAPF Yang Joe-tsi thanked the Force management for their support to HKAPF. He wished all colleagues good health and every success in the coming year.

Also attending the dinner were Assistant Commissioner (Support) Lam Hiu-tong, Acting Chief Superintendent (Support) Mark Anstiss, Chairman of the Hong Kong Police Inspectors' Association Lee Jim-on and Chairman of the Junior Police Officers' Association Chan Cho-kwong.
