Senior Superintendents Peter Whitton and Ho Chun-chung attended an overseas development programme on the theme of Purposeful Leadership in Singapore from April 9 to 13.

Over 400 senior executives from around the world attended the programme, which was run by Linkage's Global Institute for Leadership Development. World-renowned experts and academics delivered speeches, focusing on five core elements of purposeful leadership, namely "Inspire", "Engage", "Innovate", "Achieve" and "Become". In addition to conducting group discussions and sharing of leadership experience, they took part in one-on-one sessions with professional coaches.

The Force delegates also conducted case studies on purposeful leadership, with Mr Whitton visiting a traditional Chinese medicine enterprise and Mr Ho visiting a local private hospital. They met with the Chief Executive Officer of the respective organisations to understand their experience in practising purposeful leadership.

At the end of the programme, Mr Whitton commented that it had been an extremely rewarding experience, which had broadened their horizons in the field of purposeful leadership. Mr Ho remarked that the opportunity to discuss with senior executives from a diverse range of organisations, as well as the case studies, enabled them to explore leadership concepts from different perspectives and enhanced their skills.
