Five more members of "Project Torch" joined the Force after completing foundation training at the Police College. They strode with pride in the passing-out parade under the witness of Reviewing Officer Professor Frederick Ma, Commissioner Lo Wai-chung, senior officers of Mong Kok District (MKDIST), directors and members of the project, their relatives and friends on April 14.

The project was launched by MKDIST last year with the objectives of enhancing understanding between the Police and youths, and providing support and advice to youngsters who are interested in joining the Force. The scope of the project covered physical training, interview training, handling simulated cases as well as visiting government departments and police formations.

One of the recruits, Lam Siu-fung, is excited about the realisation of his dream to become a policeman. He is full of anticipation in police work. He thanked the instructors of "Project Torch" for providing all-round training and guidance, which built up his confidence in applying for a police position. He recalled that he and other participants of the project encouraged one another in the course of application. After graduation, he has been attached to MKDIST and is confident in inheriting the values of the Force. Earlier in February, one of the participants of the project graduated at the Police College and was the first project member to join the Force.
