A "Cyber Security Seminar for the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)" was jointly organised by Central District (CDIST) and Western District (WDIST) at WDIST Junior Police Call Clubhouse on June 1. The seminar attracted the attendance of over 80 SME representatives as well as Vice-Chairman of Central and Western District Fight Crime Committee Mr Li Chun-man and other committee members.

Representatives from the Intelligence Section of WDIST, the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau, the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer and the Hong Kong Productivity Council briefed the participants on the latest trend of technology crime; modus operandi of email scams, ransomware attacks and other types of technology crimes; information system security measures and support services for SMEs. The seminar ended with a sharing by a Regional Crime Prevention Officer about anti-burglary measures at the workplace.

The participants responded that the seminar had raised their awareness of cyber security, and provided ways to strengthen the security of their office computer systems.
