Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) Mr Sun Jinfeng led a 35-member delegation to visit the Force from July 16 to 20 with the aim of exchanging views with local officers on investigation skills and evidence collection.

Comprising CID representatives and forensic experts from various provinces and municipalities, the delegates visited the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau, the Identification Bureau, the Liaison Bureau, the Organized Crime and Triad Bureau and the Crime Headquarters of New Territories South Region to share experience with local officers.

Meanwhile, Mr Sun paid a courtesy call on Director of Crime and Security Li Chi-hang, and they discussed ways to combat crimes. Mr Li welcomed more Mainland forensic experts to visit Hong Kong with a view to forging co-operation in criminal investigation and forensic matters. Mr Sun hoped that both parties would maintain regular exchanges to nurture more professionals in forensics.

During their stay in Hong Kong, the delegates also called on the Department of Justice, the Government Laboratory and the Forensic Pathology Service under the Department of Health to gain a better understanding of the local criminal judicial process and how expert witnesses testify in court.
