The Anti-Deception Coordination Centre (ADCC) celebrated the first anniversary of its establishment in July. The work of ADCC has been widely recognised and supported by the public, frontline units, financial institutions and other regulatory authorities.

Up to June 30 this year, operators of the 24-hour "Anti-scam Helpline 18222" received more than 22 000 enquiry calls from the public, provided about 2 000 pieces of advice to frontline colleagues, and successfully deterred 97 cases of deception.

The ADCC is also proactive in collaborating with the banking sector in stopping payments to swindlers and minimising victims' losses. As at June 30, it has intercepted transfers of over $530 million to swindlers from the victims or victimised companies in 288 fraud cases. Looking forward, the ADCC will maintain close partnership with various stakeholders to curb scams.
