Three officers of the Small Boat Division (SBDIV) of Marine Region, led by Station Sergeant Tam Ming-sun, spent five days with the Special Task Squadron (STS) of the Singapore Police Coast Guard on an attachment programme from May 7. The programme aimed at enhancing SBDIV's capability to respond to emergencies at sea.

The four officers participated in classroom discussion and some selected training sessions of STS, including speedboat handling, close quarter battles and method of entry tactics. They also shared their work experience, knowledge and skills with STS officers.

STS's core responsibilities are similar to those of SBDIV. Both units have maintained a close partnership through the annual exchange programme. The experience gained from the attachment this year would be of great value to SBDIV's strategic development.
