Kwun Tong District Council Vice-Chairman Mr Hung Kam-in and District Councillor Mr Cheung Pui-kong, together with members of a mutual aid committee of On Tat Estate in Sau Mau Ping, presented pennants to officers of District Crime Squad (DCS) 2 and District Anti-triad Section (DATS) of Sau Mau Ping District (SMPDIST) on July 16 in appreciation of their professionalism and efficiency in detecting a robbery. SMPDIST Commander Wong Kwong-hing, Assistant District Commander (Crime) Daniel Dungey and Officer-in-charge of DCS 2 Cheung Hoi-yee received the pennants on behalf of the officers.

One June 20, a man threatened a shopkeeper with a knife and robbed $6,000 from a convenience store at On Tat Shopping Centre. Officers of DCS 2 and DATS swiftly arrived at the scene to conduct in-depth investigation. Upon extensive viewing of the footage of closed-circuit television, the officers arrested a suspect two days later. The suspect admitted committing the offence.
