Sham Shui Po District (SSPODIST), the Police Judo Club and Operation Breakthrough co-organised a summer judo training course for young people between July 23 and 27. Fourty-five police children, students from SSPODIST, and members of The Boys and Girls Clubs Association of Hong Kong joined the course.

SSPODIST Deputy Commander Chan Wing-mee, Chairman of the Police Judo Club Mr Lau Ka-yip and Director of Operation Breakthrough Mr Mike Dowie attended the graduation ceremony of the course and presented certificates to the participants. They encouraged the youths to make good use of the summer vacation to acquire knowledge outside the classroom and learn to respect others through judo training.

The participants became little judokas and competed with each other in front of their parents on the last training day. They also established close friendship through the training.
