The Support Wing ran a seminar on the Animal Watch Scheme at the Police Headquarters on July 11 for over 150 frontline officers, including those from designated investigation teams.


To enhance the professionalism and ability of frontline officers in handling animal cruelty cases, the Support Wing invited Veterinary Officer from the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department Dr Veronica Yu; Deputy Director of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Mr Karl Mak; Director of the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory of City University of Hong Kong Dr Fraser Hill; and Inspector Wu Lung from Yuen Long District Investigation Team to talk about the concept of animal welfare, relevant legislation, as well as knowledge of and skills in handling these cases.


The attendees benefited a lot from the seminar and gave positive feedback.
