Handling of animal cruelty cases

The Knowledge Management (Marine Policing) team ran an experience-sharing seminar about "Handling of Animal Cruelty Cases" on July 27 at the Marine Regional Headquarters. More than 50 frontline officers attended the event held under the Beyond Boundaries Learning Series.

Deputy Director of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Mr Karl Mak was invited to share his experience in handling animal cruelty cases. The sharing enabled the frontline officers to better understand the relevant provisions of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Ordinance (Cap. 169) and the enforcement of the Ordinance in the maritime policing environment.

The seminar has provided a platform for marine police officers to enhance their professional knowledge and practical skills. The participants were enthusiastic about the sharing.
