The Counterfeit, Forgery and Support Division of the Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) met with representatives of the baking industry on July 24 to discuss ways to curb counterfeit moon cake redemption coupons.

At the meeting presided by Superintendent Chan Tin-chu, CCB officers advised the trade representatives on how to further improve the security features of the coupons, and alerted them of the recent modus operandi of selling fake coupons on the Internet. Officers also distributed leaflets on the "Anti-Scam Helpline 18222" to the representatives. An officer of the Crime Prevention Bureau outlined crime prevention measures. The attendees appreciated the officers' advice.

Mr Chan concluded, "We treasure the opportunity to discuss issues of common concern with the trade representatives. I am confident that by working together, we can effectively combat this type of crime."
