Under the arrangements of the Hong Kong Police College, Senior Inspectors Chan Siu-cheung and Tsang Kwok-wai attended the Senior Police Administration Course organised by the Canadian Police College between June 12 and 28 at Ottawa, Canada.

Together with 17 police officers from across Canada, the two SIPs conducted in-depth studies of contemporary policing environment and learned about management methodologies and ways to formulate effective policies. They also undertook research about a specific policing issue and then delivered a presentation to a panel of experts.

After the course, the SIPs visited the Ottawa Police Service for field studies. They exchanged views with local officers on the development and challenges encountered by the two police forces. The SIPs said that the course had broadened their horizons and provided a chance for them to build networking with Canadian officers.
