The Police Band offered a full-day training for 14 students under the "Music Vision" programme on August 1. The two-year music programme was launched in April in partnership with the Music for Our Young Foundation to engage students from Tin Shui Wai and Chai Wan. Through teaching bagpipes to the students weekly, it is hoped to project a professional image of the Force and cultivate a positive attitude and values towards life among the students.

The 14 students started off the day by attending a flag-raising ceremony at the Golden Bauhinia Square. Then they went to the School of Foundation Training (SFT) in the Police College to receive training on music theory, bagpipe music and bagpipe maintenance. In addition, the Support Division of SFT led the students to join team building activities and a campus tour.

The training concluded with a mini-performance by the students at the Peter Moor Building. Director of Personnel and Training Li Kin-fai and Director of the Police College Lau Chi-wai attended the event to express appreciation to the students and encourage them to keep up the learning momentum.
