The Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) conducted briefings on the implementation of the new Online Service Provider Enquiry System to over 200 frontline officers in all Regions in mid-August.

The new system will be launched on the Departmental Portal on September 17 to facilitate e-submission by frontline units for record checks with online service providers, including Internet service providers, Internet content providers and online game providers. It will replace the existing system of manual submission of documents, thereby reducing the time for processing submissions, enhancing accuracy of submitted documents and increasing overall operational efficiency.

Chief Inspector Wong Kok-seng and Senior Inspector Cheng Yu-wai of the CSTCB explained the functions of the new system and answered questions raised by the attendees.

Moreover, the CSTCB has uploaded details of the system, including a user manual, an e-learning package and an enquiry hotline, to the Police Intranet (POINT) (http://point.hpf.gov.hk:8088/english/crime/cstcb/osp.htm). Should frontline officers encounter difficulties in using the system, they may call the hotline for assistance.
