The Tuen Mun District Fight Crime Committee, together with some local District Councillors, Tuen Mun District (S&E) Commercial Association, Tuen Mun shop tenants association and Siu Chi Residents Association, presented a get-well card and fruit baskets to officers of District Anti-Triad Squad 1 (DATS 1) of Tuen Mun District (TMDIST) on August 14.

They commended the officers for their bravery and professionalism in detecting a criminal damage case in July. TMDIST Commander Kong Man-keung attended the presentation ceremony and expressed gratitude to the District Councillors and community groups for their care and support.

During an anti-crime operation on July 31, officers of DATS 1 spotted two men damaging a truck in Tsing Hoi Circuit. They tried to intercept the two men but the latter resisted vigorously. The two men got into a car and tried to knock down a sergeant. The sergeant drew his pistol and gave verbal warnings immediately. As the driver ignored the warnings, the sergeant took resolute action by shooting the driver. During the course, the sergeant sustained injuries. Subsequently, the injured driver was arrested by the Police when he sought treatment in hospital.
