Under the arrangement of the Hong Kong Police College, Senior Inspector Wong Hau-yi attended the 30th session of the Pacific Training Initiative Course in Bangkok, Thailand, from August 14 to 24. The course was organised by the legal attaché office of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Bangkok.

The course focused on tackling transnational crimes such as terrorism, human trafficking as well as organised and cyber crimes. Fifty-seven junior and mid-level officers from law enforcement agencies in Asia-Pacific attended the course. Veteran FBI personnel shared their expertise and experience through lectures, case studies and interactive exercises.

Ms Wong said the course had not only broadened her horizons in the policing practices in other jurisdictions, but also enabled the participants to build a partnership for tackling serious crime.
