Traffic Hong Kong Island (T HKI) held a cross-sectoral meeting with the Transport Department (TD), three tunnel companies and other Regional Traffic Formations on August 30 to pave the way for the opening of the Central-Wanchai Bypass.

Senior Superintendent (T HKI) Ng Lok-chun led some officers of his team to discuss with other attendees the challenges arising from the opening of the Central-Wanchai Bypass and the possible impact on traffic policing in the peripheral areas. The meeting aimed at establishing a closer partnership in traffic management, and exploring effective measures in enhancing road safety and alleviating traffic congestion on Hong Kong Island. All parties are committed to providing a safe and smooth road network for road users.

T HKI will continue to adopt a multi-agency approach to strengthen co-operation with relevant stakeholders in traffic issues.
