The Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) led over 80 former recipients of the Good Citizen Award (GCA) and their family members to visit the Police Dog Unit (PDU) Headquarters and Training School in Sha Ling on August 25. This was one of the activities to engage the awardees to continue to support the Force.

Officers of PDU told the participants the background of the unit, their daily work and the attributes of police dogs. Under the guidance of Dog Handlers, the participants put on the gear for training police dogs, and watched a training activity and a performance of police dogs. They also visited the kennels to take a close look of and take photographs with the police dogs. All participants were excited about the visit.

Since 2010, the former GCA recipients were invited to join activities arranged by the PPRB, such as visits to the Police College and the PDU. By building a strong relationship with the Force, the awardees and their families could get to know the latest crime prevention messages and assist in spreading the messages to different sectors.
