About 10 volunteers from the Police Boxing Club offered boxing training for "Project Gemstone" members of Yau Tsim District (YTDIST) starting from August 18. The weekly class aims to strengthen the members' willpower through sports, and cultivate in them discipline and positive attitudes.

A Physical Training Instructor from the Police College, Ng Ka-ho, was invited to share with the members his experience in boxing. Having taken up boxing at the age of 11, Mr Ng represented the Force to participate in boxing competitions and was honoured for winning a silver medal in boxing in the World Police and Fire Games 2015.

As a Chinese proverb goes, "One minute on stage requires 10 years of hard work." The "Project Gemstone" members have participated actively in boxing training. The boxing class has promoted a healthy lifestyle, and enhanced communication among YTDIST officers, the instructors and the non-ethnic Chinese community.
