Commissioner Lo Wai-chung led a six-member delegation to attend the 87th INTERPOL General Assembly in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates between November 18 and 21. Other delegates included Director of Crime and Security Li Chi-hang, Assistant Commissioner (Personnel) Siu Chak-yee, Deputy Regional Commander of New Territories North Chan Yee-lai and Senior Superintendent of Liaison Bureau Liu Wing-yip.

The theme of the General Assembly for this year was "Policing in the Information Age". The delegates discussed and endorsed a series of measures that strengthened the INTERPOL organisation to better serve member states and reinforced partnership. This will enhance INTERPOL's capability to fight cross-boundary crime.

Meanwhile, Mr Lo met with Secretary General of INTERPOL Jürgen Stock and representatives from Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico and the Netherlands to discuss the tackling of international crime and terrorism, as well as international co-operation issues.
