The Hong Kong Police College made arrangements for Senior Inspector Chan Ka-yeung to attend the Regional Executive Leadership Program at the Jakarta Centre for Law Enforcement Cooperation in Semarang, Indonesia, from October 15 to 26. Superintendent Fang Chi-kin was also invited as one of the program's instructors.

The program brought together 18 law enforcement officers from 13 countries and cities in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Region to discuss strategies to fight terrorism and international crime. Experts shared their experience in counter terrorism, the use of social media and media handling. The participants exchanged best practices. The program also covered leadership training and case studies.

The training not only provided an effective platform for enhancing the professional knowledge of the participants, but also developed a network of police officers within the ASEAN Region.
