Under the arrangement of the Hong Kong Police College, Senior Inspector Ho Yiu-chung participated in the Asia Region Law Enforcement Management Program organised by the Australian Federal Police in Vietnam from October 1 to 19. The program offered a platform for law enforcement officers to learn more about the investigation of cross-boundary synthetic drug trafficking and enhance collaboration.

Twenty-three law enforcement officers from Europe, Asia and Africa took part in the training. The program explored the trend of international synthetic drug trafficking, with a focus on innovative investigation methods, as well as techniques of conducting financial investigation, online investigation and joint operations. It also analysed regional challenges through case studies. In addition, the curriculum included management skills, personal development, public speaking and cross-boundary co-operation. Representatives from various governments, law enforcement agencies, private organisations, INTERPOL and the United Nations were invited as guest speakers.

The program enabled the participants to gain a deeper understanding of international synthetic drug trafficking. The sharing of best practices has strengthened the confidence of the participants in investigating this type of crime and disrupting serious organised crime groups.
