Ma On Shan Division (MOSDIV) conducted a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) exercise, codenamed "REDFOG", at the Hong Kong Science Park on November 24. The exercise aimed to strengthen the Force's response in handling CBRN incidents and enhance the inter-operability among the Force, the Fire Services Department (FSD) and the Science Park.

The exercise simulated an incident in which a chemical was spilled in a laboratory at the Science Park, causing injuries to many people. Officers of MOSDIV and the Emergency Unit of New Territories South swiftly arrived at the scene and conducted evacuation. The FSD set up facilities for decontaminating the affected people. Officers of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau collected evidence from the scene for investigation.

More than 60 frontline officers participated in the exercise. The event not only fostered co-operation of the related units, but also enhanced the participants' understanding of situation assessment, manpower deployment and communication during CBRN incidents.
