FSD officer talks about maritime rescue services

The Knowledge Management (Marine Policing) team ran an experience sharing session, under the Beyond Boundaries Learning Series, about "Maritime Emergency Services by Fire Services Department (FSD)" at Marine Harbour Division on December 14, 2018.

Mr Kenneth Chan, Divisional Commander (Marine and Diving) of the FSD, was invited to share his valuable experience and knowledge in commanding major incidents at sea, including a fire on a container vessel at Yau Ma Tei Anchorage in 2010 and a serious vessel collision in 2012.

More than 50 frontline marine police officers attended the sharing session. They gained a better understanding of the key points in handling major maritime incidents, in particular the importance of safeguarding personal safety in rescue operations. The event enhanced their professional knowledge and practical skills.
