A total of 180 officers were honoured at a commendation ceremony of the Wan Chai District Outstanding Police Officer Contest on January 18. The contest is held annually by Wan Chai District (WCHDIST), Wan Chai District Office and Wan Chai District Fight Crime Committee (DFCC) to commend officers for their professionalism in discharging duties in WCHDIST over the year and to boost their morale.


The awardees were selected by an adjudication panel with reference to the work record of and interviews with officers. The panel included Chairman Mr Li Shing-kuen and Vice-chairman Mr Yeung Ka-shing of Wan Chai DFCC, and principal Mr Cheung Yung-pong who was the convenor of the working group of the Outstanding Police Officer Contest cum Commendation Ceremony.


District Crime Squad 2 of WCHDIST, Property Office Sub-Unit of Wan Chai Division and Task Force Sub-Unit of Central District won Gold Awards for their outstanding work performance. Representatives of these units shared their work experience in the ceremony. Apart from local community representatives, the awardees' family members also attended the ceremony to share their joy.
