Crime Kowloon West (CRM KW) Headquarters conducted an annual exercise, codenamed "TURNYCLOUD", at the Tactical Training Complex of the Police College on February 23 for Evidence Gathering Teams (EGTs) from Kowloon City, Mong Kok, Sham Shui Po and Yau Tsim Districts.

The exercise aimed to enhance the effectiveness of the EGTs in gathering evidence in public events, reinforce the knowledge of the laws in relation to public events and internal guidelines. The exercise simulated four scenarios, each of which was adapted from real cases and tailored to the policing context of the respective districts. It strengthened the ability of the EGTs in the identification of heads of troublemakers in public events, gathering video evidence as well as strengthening co-ordination and communication with the Police Tactical Units in handling public events.

A review was conducted after every session with a view to evaluating the efficiency of the EGTs, and enhancing their evidence-gathering skills as well as their capabilities and confidence in frontline work.
