Deputy Director of the Police College Chan Man-tak led a seven-member delegation to visit Myanmar, one of the Belt and Road countries, between February 25 and March 1 to learn about its development and explore training collaboration opportunities. The delegation comprised officers from the Operations Wing, the Crime Wing and the Police College.

The delegates called on Myanmar's National Security Advisor and Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Mr Thaung Tun, and met with Chief of Myanmar Police Force Mr Aung Win Oo and various police department heads to get a better understanding of the policing development and crime trends. The delegates sought to explore training collaboration in various policing aspects, in particular counter-terrorism, anti-money laundering and cyber crime investigation. They also visited the Myanmar Police Force Headquarters and Yangon Region Police Station to share experience with frontline officers and to learn about the operation of the local police station.

The visit enabled the delegation to gain a deeper understanding of policing development and training needs in Myanmar and strengthened the ties between the two police forces.
