The Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) hosted a cyber security seminar on ''Prepare For The Future: Threats and Mitigations'' at the Police Headquarters on February 22.

The seminar, which aimed to raise cyber security awareness among stakeholders, attracted the participation of more than 240 cyber security professionals from five critical infrastructure sectors, namely banking and finance, transportation, communications, public utilities and government.

With an upsurge in technology crimes in Hong Kong in 2018, Superintendent of the Cyber Security Division Tsang Nga-sze urged all stakeholders to raise their awareness of cyber security. Meanwhile, National Technology Officer of Microsoft Hong Kong Limited Mr Fred Sheu was invited to speak on potential cyber threats as well as causes and prevention of cyber attacks. Senior Inspector Lee Lap-man concluded the seminar with a presentation on the causes of data leakage and relevant solutions.

The participants actively took part in the question-and-answer session. They said the seminar provided useful information to enhance cyber security in their workplace.
