Sham Shui Po District (SSPODIST) conducted a Heritage Guided Tour for the public to Sham Shui Po Police Station on April 6 and 7. The police station was built in 1925 and has been listed as a Grade 2 historic building. The guided tour was held to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Hong Kong Police Force and to enhance public understanding of police work.

The Regional Crime Prevention Office and Police Community Relations Offices in Kowloon West Region invited members of the Junior Police Call, Senior Police Call (SPC), Project Torch, Project Ring, Hong Kong Single Parents Association and African Community Hong Kong to visit Sham Shui Po Police Station. Citizens of different backgrounds, age groups and nationalities took the opportunity to conduct exchanges with police officers.

The tour covered the history of SSPODIST, a display of police equipment and uniforms, mobile interactive games and a guided station tour. A group of trained SPC volunteer docents led the participants to admire the historic building and police equipment. The participants took photographs with volunteers dressed in historic uniforms while children tried on mini police uniforms.

The participants enjoyed the tour. They said it was a good opportunity to learn more about the work of SSPODIST and the Force. SSPODIST was grateful to officers and volunteers who assisted in arranging the tour.
