New Territories South (NTS) Regional Commander has appointed a total of 156 NTS civilians and police officers as Information Security (InfoSec) Ambassadors this year. The NTS Regional Monitoring Group on InfoSec invited speakers from the Information Systems Wing (ISW) to run a seminar on March 12 with the aim of raising the ambassadors' awareness and knowledge of InfoSec.

Chairman of the Monitoring Group Mr Yau Kwok-keung presented letters of appointment to the ambassadors in the seminar. He stressed that the key factors for the successful implementation of InfoSec strategy were the development of an InfoSec culture as well as peer support. With the full support of NTS for the ambassadors, Mr Yau was confident that they would fulfill their commitment to promote InfoSec professionally.

Meanwhile, the Monitoring Group has displayed publicity materials about InfoSec tips in staff canteens of police stations in NTS. The publicity materials will be updated quarterly in a bid to introduce the objectives of the Force Information Security Strategy, the latest policy on InfoSec and tips for preventing information leakage.
