The Junior Police Call Leader Corps and 15 other youth uniformed groups were invited by the Committee of Youth Activities in Hong Kong to participate in a flag-raising ceremony at the Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai on May 4 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and to mark the centenary of the May Fourth Movement. This was the first time for the Junior Police Call (JPC) to take part in the event.

Chief Executive Mrs Carrie Lam was the reviewing officer of the ceremony. A number of senior government officials, including Assistant Commissioner (Support) Lam Hiu-tong, and celebrities were invited to attend the ceremony.

The JPC sent a 16-member team from HKSYC&IA Chan Nam Chong Memorial College, who performed well in the JPC Leader Corps Annual Parade earlier, to march in the event. All the participating teams were in high spirits and marched orderly. This showed the efforts they made in foot drills. The marching team of the JPC Leader Corps won the applause of the audience for their smart performance. Members of the JPC team said they were very honoured to represent the JPC Leader Corps to attend the flag-raising ceremony.
