At the invitation of Madrassa Muhammadia Ghosia, Yuen Long, Commander of Yuen Long District (YLDIST) Lee Wai-man led officers to attend an "Iftar" dinner on May 31. Imam of the madrassa Mr Sabri Sabir Hussain also joined the gathering.

The Chairman of Madrassa Muhammadia Ghosia, Yuen Long, Mr Mohammad Amir Khan, introduced the Islamic culture of Ramadan to the officers. Mr Khan said that during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, Muslims would refrain from eating and drinking from dawn to sunset every day and they would hold an "Iftar" dinner for breaking the daily fast.

The event helped enhance understanding between the Police and the non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) community. Mr Khan expressed heartfelt gratitude to YLDIST for maintaining close contact with the community and promoting racial harmony.
