A representative of a company presented pennants to the Anti-Deception Coordination Centre (ADCC) of the Commercial Crime Bureau and the District Investigation Team 6 of Yau Tsim District (DIT 6 YTDIST) on June 6 in recognition of their professionalism and efficiency in assisting the company to recover the money lost in an email scam.

In April, the company received an email from a fraudster impersonating a staff member of the company's headquarters on the Mainland, and the company followed the fraudster's instruction to transfer US$1 million to a Hong Kong bank account. As the company found out later that it was a scam, the company reported the case to the Police. DIT 6 YTDIST took over the case and contacted the ADCC for follow-up actions. This led to the interception of the payment, and protected the company from any financial loss.
