Tsuen Wan District (TWDIST) held a launching ceremony of "Project Amulet" at Princess Alexandra Community Centre on June 27. The project was held jointly with the Tsuen Wan District Fight Crime Committee (DFCC) to encourage owners of "three-nil" buildings to install a closed-circuit television (CCTV) system in their buildings.

The project not only helps enhance the security of old buildings and public safety, but also prevents crime. Moreover, the CCTV system can provide evidence for the Police in a crime case and raise the detection rate. Tsuen Wan DFCC will offer subsidy to eligible buildings for the installation of a CCTV system so as to encourage owners to join the project.

The project has gained unanimous support from the stakeholders, including the Tsuen Wan DFCC, Tsuen Wan District Office, Tsuen Wan District Council and owners' representatives.

Officiating at the launching ceremony were TWDIST Commander Kerry Carew, Chairman of Tsuen Wan DFCC Mr Chiu Yiu-nin, Chairman of Tsuen Wan District Council Mr Wong Wai-kit, and Assistant District Officer (Tsuen Wan) Mr Chow Chun-hun.
