Under the arrangements of the Administration Wing of New Territories South (NTS) Region as well as the Junior Police Officers' Association of the Hong Kong Police Force, 18 Chinese medicine practitioners, chiropractors and massage therapists from the Spinal Musculoskeletal Pain Awareness Association went to NTS Regional Headquarters on September 5 to offer free consultation services for front-line officers who have taken part in Operation TIDERIDER.

On that day, the volunteers offered medical diagnosis and treatment, acupuncture and osteopathic massage to over 180 officers from different Formations and Units of NTS Region. Apart from treating the officers' injuries on the spot, the medical volunteers carefully checked whether the officers required other treatment, and offered advice on doing exercise therapy at home if necessary. The medical volunteers also reminded the officers to maintain a good posture and keep the back and waist upright while standing.

The consultation services were well received by the officers. The officers thanked the medical volunteers for their support and professional treatment. Chairman of the Spinal Musculoskeletal Pain Awareness Association Mr Anthony Chin said that they would visit different Formations to offer free medical consultation for police officers.
