The Chief Executive (CE), Mrs Carrie Lam, presented honours and awards to 329 recipients at the 2019 Honours and Awards Presentation Ceremony at Government House on November 9. Forty-seven serving and retired members of the Force have been recognised in the 2019 Honours List, which was announced on July 1.

Heading the list of the Force recipients was former Deputy Commissioner Lau Yip-shing who was presented with the Silver Bauhinia Star. Senior Assistant Commissioners Li Kin-fai and Li Chi-hang, Assistant Commissioners Patrick Hodson, Cheuk Hau-yip and former Assistant Commissioner Yu Tat-chung were awarded the Police Medal for Distinguished Service. Assistant Commissioners Chan Joon-sun, Chan Yee-lai and 20 other officers received the Police Medal for Meritorious Service.

In addition, three officers were awarded the Medal for Bravery (Silver), five officers were awarded the Medal for Bravery (Bronze) while 11 officers were presented with the CE's Commendation for Government/Public Service for their outstanding performance in a marine rescue operation on September 16, 2018 during the passage of super typhoon Mangkhut.
