Operation Breakthrough was recently awarded Gold Award for Volunteer Service (Organization). The award was granted by the Chief Secretary for Administration and the Director of Social Welfare in recognition of the 3 419 hours of volunteer service delivered by members of Operation Breakthrough to the community in 2018. Additionally, individual members of Operation Breakthrough received six gold, four silver and 15 volunteer service awards for their dedicated and personal contributions to the community through the delivery of Operation Breakthrough sporting programmes.

In August, Chairman of Operation Breakthrough Glenn O'Neill and Sau Mau Ping District Commander Wong Kwong-hing presented the volunteer service awards to the deserved recipients.

During the current crisis, Operation Breakthrough continues to build bridges between disaffected young people and the police, volunteers are dedicated to serving the community and realise that their work is more important than it is has ever been.

Those officers, both serving or retried, who are interested in contributing to Operation Breakthrough should contact: (pc-int-2f-d-div-ccb@police.gov.hk); we are particular keen on recruiting football players.
