Regional Crime Prevention Office of Kowloon West (RCPO KW) and Yau Tsim Mong District Fight Crime Committee (YTMDFCC) held a security seminar for over 100 representatives of retail and commercial industry on January 16 to strengthen their awareness of burglary and deception cases.


Officiating at the event were YTMDFCC Chairperson, Ms Chan Heung-lin; Convener of Working Group on Community and Education for Ethnic Minorities of YMTDFCC, Ms Hui Mei-sheung; and Senior Inspector of RCPO KW Yeung Pak-kin.


The talk comprised of three sessions relating to the industry: Chief Inspector of Commercial Crime Bureau Tang Shun-yan talked about how to identify fake banknotes; a representative from the banking industry shared the knowledge of preventing deception regarding credit cards, as well as case studies and preventive measures; officers of RCPO KW highlighted information on security for retailers and commercial industry, explained the modus operandi of prevalent scams and gave precautionary recommendations.


The participants commented that the seminar was very informative and greatly enhanced their crime prevention awareness and knowledge.
