Director of Personnel and Training Li Kin-fai and President of the Senior Officers' Mess Committee Cheung Ching hosted a gathering to bid farewell to the retiring Regional Commander of Kowloon West (RC KW) Cheuk Hau-yip at the Commissioner's Lounge of the Senior Officers' Mess on February 5.


Ms Cheung praised Mr Cheuk for his remarkable contribution to the Force over his 37 years of service, during which he was revered for his courage, fortitude, charisma and impact as a leader.


In his speech, Mr Cheuk shared words of wisdom and encouraged frontline commanders to shoulder their responsibilities fearlessly in times of adversity. He reminded officers that management of human capital is what makes or breaks a team and that a leader should always lead by example, face daily challenges and unforeseen difficulties with courage and effect changes in comrades to help them develop.


The guests recounted their experiences of working with Mr Cheuk with much merriment. Mr Cheuk has left behind a legacy that will inspire generations of officers.
